Title: StreamGuys Redefines Streaming Analytics with Second-Generation SGreports
StreamGuys, a pioneering provider of streaming and podcast solutions, has unveiled its second-generation SGreports solution, enhancing the access and interpretation of streaming analytics for broadcasters and media firms of all sizes. SGreports is a comprehensive log processing and content analytics tool for live streams and podcasts, which has now been refined for improved user experience, swift data aggregation, and immediate access to streaming analytics.
The upgraded SGreports is part of StreamGuys’ expanding Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) suite of analytics and monitoring services. Initially, the solution has been made available for small-to-mid-sized clients, with plans to extend its availability to larger enterprise accounts requiring higher levels of customization soon.
SGreports aids broadcasters and media companies to access metrics that elucidate how audiences interact with streaming content. These metrics can then be utilized to make informed business and programming decisions. The software presents data visualizations on user dashboards, enabling users to quickly filter and compare data on various streams and podcast episodes.
StreamGuys’ Head of Product, Robert Minnix, noted that the new SGreports offers a more cohesive environment to aggregate data from different subsets, yielding a singular view as opposed to managing data across multiple dashboards. “We have now centralized all this data to a single pane of glass,” said Minnix.
SGreports now boasts a more responsive user interface, offering visually distinctive metrics at a greater speed. It incorporates more insightful charts and graphics, making the data more appealing to view and quicker to digest.
In terms of service quality, StreamGuys has migrated SGreports to a Kappa software architecture that supports real-time processing for analytics. This allows SGreports to aggregate data quicker, with event metrics often available within minutes of completion.
The advanced reporting capabilities of SGreports now include enhanced user agent and device-level analysis based on the Open Podcast Analytics Working Group (OPAWG). SGreports directly integrates with StreamGuys’ flagship SGrecast podcast management platform and will soon support SGrewind time-shifting service to help users spot trends in traffic and consumption of rewindable content.
